Brisbane's Award-Winning Custom Home Builder

We Build Two Homes a Year. We Build Them Right.

Fixed-price contracts. Clear timelines. Ongoing communication. These are just a few of the things our clients always rave about.

At Mamet Homes, our custom home builders help you bring your dream home to life with quality craftsmanship and a seamless building experience.

Our collaborative process is focused on you and your needs. In contrast to many builders, we work to your budget and offer a set-price quote for your custom build or renovation. This gives you the peace of mind usually reserved for “cookie cutter” projects, but with the quality of a custom home.

Our People

Adrien Mamet

Founder & Head Builder

Adrien Mamet is the founder and head builder of Mamet Homes. He completed his carpentry apprenticeship in Cairns in 1996 before moving to Melbourne to complete a second apprenticeship in shopfitting in 1999. After years in commercial carpentry and fit-out, Adrien made a deliberate shift — leaving behind an industry built on disposability to build homes designed to last. Licensed in Queensland (QBCC 15051891), he leads a close-knit Brisbane team that shares his commitment to quality, sustainability, and building to a standard that goes well beyond the minimum. A grandfather of three, that standard is personal.

Full Bio

Adrien Mamet founded Mamet Homes on a conviction that had been building for years: that the construction industry could do better, and that homes should be built to outlast the people who build them.

He completed his carpentry apprenticeship in Cairns in 1996, then relocated to Melbourne where he finished a second apprenticeship in shopfitting in 1999. For several years he worked across commercial carpentry and fit-out — skilled work, but ultimately an industry defined by waste. Fixtures replaced before they wore out. Materials chosen for speed, not longevity. It sat badly with him.

Sustainability has always been central to how Adrien thinks. Now a grandfather of three grown children, that instinct has only sharpened. He didn’t want to contribute to a world built on throwaway ideals. If he was going to make an impact, it would be through homes — beautiful, carefully built homes that exceeded current codes, used the best sustainable materials available, and were genuinely built to stand the test of time.

Today, Adrien personally oversees every Mamet Homes project from the first conversation through to handover. He leads a core team of Brisbane-based tradespeople held to the same standard. Fixed-price contracts, clear timelines, no surprises.

That commitment has been recognised across the industry — Brisbane and Queensland HIA wins in 2024 across multiple categories, and three consecutive Master Builders Housing and Construction Regional Awards.

Fiona Mamet

Client Liaison

Fiona is Adrien’s wife and the person most Mamet Homes clients build their relationship with. As Client Liaison, her ability to listen carefully, understand what each family is really trying to achieve, and keep communication clear throughout the build has been instrumental in the business earning the trust it has. Warm, perceptive, and genuinely invested in every project, Fiona has been at the heart of Mamet Homes since the very beginning.

Full Bio

Fiona Mamet is Adrien’s wife and one of the foundational reasons Mamet Homes works as well as it does.

As Client Liaison, Fiona is often the first voice clients hear and the consistent presence throughout their build journey. She has a rare ability to make people feel genuinely heard — to ask the right questions, understand what’s really being asked for, and ensure that what gets communicated to the team reflects what the client actually wants. In an industry where miscommunication can be costly, that’s not a small thing.

Fiona has been part of Mamet Homes from the very beginning, and her commitment to the personal touch has shaped the way the business approaches every client relationship. Building a home is one of the most significant decisions a family makes. Fiona makes sure it feels that way from the very first call.

Kate Driscoll

Office Manager & Project Manager

Kate joined Mamet Homes in 2013 with no background in construction and built her expertise from the ground up. Fiona’s sister, she’s now a qualified project manager and the Master Builders 2024 Women in Construction Award winner — recognition that reflects the breadth of what she actually does. Kate manages the operations, the documentation, the schedules, and a great deal in between. Outside of work, she can be found walking her very large, very confident-in-daylight dog.

Full Bio

Kate Driscoll came to Mamet Homes in 2013 with no prior experience in the construction industry. What she had was sharp instincts, a willingness to learn fast, and an eye for detail that turned out to be exactly what a growing building company needed.

Fiona’s sister and a natural fit for the close-knit Mamet Homes team, Kate has grown over more than a decade into one of the most capable people in the business. She manages the office, oversees project administration, and works as a qualified project manager in her own right — a combination that requires someone who can hold a lot of moving parts clearly and calmly. Kate does that well.

In 2024, her contribution was formally recognised when she took out the Master Builders Women in Construction Award — an acknowledgement of a career genuinely built from the ground up.

Away from work, Kate is usually outdoors with her extraordinarily large dog, who manages to be both imposing and entirely terrified of the dark.

Brad Farlow

Senior Project Manager

Brad joined Mamet Homes in 2014 as a carpenter and has earned every step since. Now the Senior Project Manager and a licensed builder in his own right, he brings deep trade knowledge to every project — which means he knows exactly where budgets leak, where schedules slip, and how to prevent both without compromising the finish. His record is a long list of beautiful, bespoke homes delivered on budget. When he’s not on site, Brad is most at home camping with his family.

Full Bio

Brad Farlow’s path at Mamet Homes is a straightforward one: he started as a carpenter in 2014 and kept doing good work until there was more responsibility to take on. He took it.

Today Brad is the Senior Project Manager and holds his own builder’s licence — a qualification that took years of site experience, study, and commitment to earn. That background means he manages projects with the kind of practical knowledge that only comes from having done the work yourself. He knows where costs blow out, where timelines slip, and how to prevent both without cutting corners on the finish.

His record speaks for itself: Mamet Homes clients consistently come away with homes they’re proud of, on or close to budget, built to a standard that holds up. Brad is a significant reason why.

Away from the site, Brad is at his best outdoors — camping with his family and making the most of everything Queensland has to offer.

Ryan Bussey

Carpenter & Supervisor in Training

Ryan came to carpentry as a mature-age apprentice in 2022, after a career as a chef. The trade background transferred in the best possible way: his attention to detail and care for craft are second to none. Mentored through his apprenticeship by the Mamet Homes team, Ryan has become an excellent carpenter and is working toward his supervisory qualification. The precision that made him a good chef is making him a very good builder.

Full Bio

Ryan Bussey joined Mamet Homes in 2022 as a mature-age first-year apprentice — a career change that, on paper, might seem unlikely. In practice, it made perfect sense.

Before carpentry, Ryan worked as a chef. The skills that define a good chef — precision, patience, care for the finished product, and the discipline to do small things properly — are exactly the skills that define a good carpenter. Ryan brought all of them with him.

Mentored through his apprenticeship by the Mamet Homes team, Ryan has become one of the most careful and capable tradespeople on site. He’s currently working toward his supervisory qualification — a natural next step for someone who already approaches every task with a senior-level standard.

Sam Spencer & Jake Mamet

Carpenters — On Hiatus

Mamet Homes takes a long view when it comes to the tradespeople it develops. Every carpenter who comes through the business is actively encouraged — once they’re ready — to spend at least two years working independently or with another builder. Seeing different sites, different methods, different challenges. It makes them better. And the door at Mamet Homes always stays open.

Sam Spencer and Jake Mamet are both out in the world doing exactly that.

Sam Spencer

Carpenter

Sam Spencer came through his carpentry apprenticeship with Mamet Homes and left a mark that’s hard to overstate: in 2025, he was named HIA Apprentice of the Year for Australia. He has since returned to his home town in northern New South Wales to build his experience independently — part of a deliberate approach Mamet Homes takes to developing tradespeople properly. The door remains open.

Full Bio

Sam Spencer completed his carpentry apprenticeship with Mamet Homes and, in 2025, was named HIA Apprentice of the Year for Australia — the highest recognition in the country for an apprentice in the building and construction industry. It’s a result that reflects both Sam’s ability and the standard that Mamet Homes holds its people to.

Sam has since moved back to his home town in northern New South Wales, where he’s building his trade experience independently. At Mamet Homes, that’s not a departure — it’s part of the plan. Every carpenter who develops here is encouraged to spend time working elsewhere before returning. It sharpens what they know and broadens how they think.

Sam’s chair is kept warm.

Jake Mamet

Carpenter

Jake Mamet grew up with building in his blood — the son of Adrien, he came through the Mamet Homes tools as a carpenter before heading overseas to chase something else for a while. He’s currently working his way through Europe and Canada, following the ski seasons and building experience on international sites. Like all Mamet Homes carpenters who head out into the world, he’s welcome back whenever he’s ready.

Full Bio

Jake Mamet is Adrien’s son, and carpentry was always part of the picture. He came through the trade at Mamet Homes, learned it properly, and — in keeping with the way the business develops its people — headed out to build his experience independently when the time was right.

Right now, Jake is working his way through Europe and Canada, following the ski seasons and picking up site experience along the way. It’s the kind of chapter that makes a tradesperson more rounded — different conditions, different standards, a broader frame of reference to bring back.

The Mamet Homes door is open when he’s done with winter.
